Just think of how much we could change things if we just took 25 percent points away from military spending and divided them equally between housing, education, and health and human services.  There is just no truly justifiable reason for this amount of military spending. Also I don’t know why we still refer to it as the Dept. of Defense, when the vast majority of our “Defense” seems to occur in third world countries that don’t even come close to possessing the capabilities to pose a serious, viable threat to us.  Why not call it the “Oil Supply Securement Budget” or “Achieving Supreme World Dominance Budget”?
